Mashaka Official, an emerging South African label, is known for its bold exploration of shape and form. Their distinctive signature is the creation of puffer jackets that transcend traditional norms, embracing futuristic shapes and silhouettes. For this collaboration, my mission was clear: to create images that not only showcased Mashaka Official’s innovative designs but also paid homage to the Afro-futurism aesthetic. Afro-futurism, with its fusion of African culture and futuristic elements, serves as a powerful conduit for envisioning a future where African identity flourishes on a global stage.
