WABI SABI
This Editorial is a reflection of the Japanese philosophy or cultural pursuit, known as Wabi Sabi. Through this philosophy, we find beauty in imperfection and a deep appreciation for natural phenomena like decay. It’s an acceptance of the impermanent, incomplete, and imperfect nature of life itself. Through careful curation of garments sourced from For The Greater Good and Public Domain, I set out to create images that represent this philosophy through the language of fashion. Each garment in these images becomes a visual ode to Wabi Sabi. From the distressed fabrics to the organic shapes and colours. Drawing inspiration from the aesthetic of Wabi Sabi, these editorials transcend conventional notions of beauty and perfection.
